Core Humanitarian Standards for Quality and Accountability
“, which means that Charity For Life follows 9 goals that both the organization, partners and individuals must follow to improve the quality and effectiveness of the help offered. The nine goals are reflected in Charity For Life’s bylaws and also shown in the image below.
THESE ARE THE FOLLOWING 9 GOALS THAT MUST BE MET BY CHARITY FOR LIFE.
1. Communities and people affected by crisis receive help that is appropriate and relevant to their needs.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian aid is appropriate and relevant.
2. Communities and people affected by the crisis have access to necessary humanitarian aid at the right time.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian aid is effective and timely.
3. Communities and people affected by crisis must not be negatively affected and must be more prepared and less at risk as a result of the humanitarian action.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian aid strengthens local capacity and avoids negative effects.
4. Communities and people affected by crisis know their rights and have access to information and participate in decisions that affect them.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian aid is based on communication, participation and feedback.
5. Communities and people affected by the crisis have access to safe and responsive grievance mechanisms.
Quality Criterion: Complaints are welcomed and addressed.
6. Communities and people affected by crisis receive coordinated and complementary help.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian aid is coordinated and complementary.
7. Communities and people affected by crisis can expect the delivery of improved help based on the organization’s learning from experience and reflection.
Quality criterion: Humanitarian actors are continuously learning and improving.
8. Communities and people affected by crisis receive the help they need from competent and well-managed staff and volunteers. Quality criterion: Staff are supported to do their jobs effectively and treat beneficiaries fairly and equally.
9. Communities and people affected by crisis can expect organizations that help them to manage resources effectively and ethically.
Quality criterion: Resources are managed and used responsibly for the intended purpose.
